Healthy eating

You should eat healthily so you can be strong and healthy when you grow up,
you also need lots of calcium so when you grow up you have strong bones and teeth.

You need to eat 5+ a day so you can get your daily fruit and vegetables. You also need to eat different colours such as, red, yellow\orange, brown/white,green and blue and purple as they are the colours that are good for you.

Your body needs Vitamins as well the body uses these Vitamins and they help your health, there is, Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin D,  and Vitamin K, they each are really good for you.

Some fats and sugars aren’t good for you for example, the sugar you put in your hot chocolate [ you can eat some just not A LOT ], And a lot of fat is in crackle basically all it is, is pig fat that is crunchy, if you eat too much sugar and fat you can start getting obese.

You haven't to do exercise as well if you want to lose some weight or get fitter,
If you eat too much or weigh to much go for a run around the block or ride your bike at the river track or take your scooter to the skate-park, those are just some ways to get fit.

You can have problems if you don’t eat healthy like, getting fatter, not getting out often, get obese, feel sick [ if you don’t eat good food enough ] or maybe get diabetes so you should eat healthy so hopefully none of these things happen to you.

On packets of food there are labels, you can read them to see the fat, sugar, calcium, vitamins, sodium, protein, carbohydrates, energy, saturated, fibre, minerals

Why we should eat healthily

We need to eat healthy so we can keep our body fit and healthy and so our brain works all day everyday.

We need our 5+ a day so we stay healthy. Everyone needs 2 fruit a day and 3 vegetables. The colours we should have every day are red, yellow/orange, brown/white, green and blue/purple.For example red could be cherries and watermelon. For yellow/orange apricots, pumpkin, peaches and pineapple. Brown/white, ginger, dates, turnips and onions.
Green, avocadoes, celery and limes.
Blue/purple, Beetroot, plums and eggplants.

There are lots of different types of vitamins and all different vitamins do lots of different things. For example vitamin K is important because its function is for clotting the blood that flows through our body. The vegetables that vitamin k are in are these ones, leafy green vegetables, turnips, broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, spinach and lots of others. Vitamin K is in nil fruit which means there is no vitamin K in fruit.
Vitamin C is amazing, its function fights against the infection and is used in tissue repair and general health and it helps the body absorb iron from food, the vegetables vitamin C is in are red, green peppers and parsley [these food are excellent] Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, cauliflower and radishes[these foods are very good] Leek, lettuce, spring onions and lots of other ones. There is also the vitamin B group which is also very good for you.

We need a little of sugar and fat but not too much otherwise we will get fat!!! For example fat that is on meat is good for you but you can’t have too much of it and the sugar that is in chocolate you can’t eat LOADS of it but you can eat some so you have some energy.
If you want to help prevent getting fat you can read the labels on the packets. The labels are, energy, protein, fat, saturated, carbohydrates, sugars, sodium, calcium.  

Everyone needs a good meal balance, For example you can’t just eat meat or just rice because you won’t get all nutrients you will need. You need all different types of food because they all give you different types of vitamins and different sugar and fat and they are all different. So it’s good if you have all these different varieties of foods.

Exercise is very good for our body and our brain. It keeps us going forwards. We need to exercise everyday so we stay healthy. There are lots of ways to exercise. Walking, running, biking, swimming and lots of others. If you didn’t know most sports give you exercise.

If you don’t exercise then you may get fat. You want to live a happy life.
That is why we should eat healthily.

My travel to Hawaii

Hi im Tiare i'm writing about my trip to Hawaii. On my first day my family and I landed in Honolulu from New Zealand. The best time to go is in spring. It took us 9 hours and 48 minutes.We had to learn Hawaiian before we could carry on but most of them spoke english. When we got there we checked in at a fancy hotel.At the hotel there was a pool, a cafe, a kids room and a exersise room. For dinner we went to Arnold’s beach bar and grill. They had some lovely delicious food there. I was starving so I got a big meal. Then my family and I walked back to the hotel and had a big sleep.


Monday.In the morning I woke up and made myself breakfast. I had some toast with a coconut smoothie. It was scrumptious! Then everybody woke up. Today is going to be exciting because we are getting a treat. Now we are going to the zoo in Honolulu. At the zoo in Honolulu my family and I saw the Indian Mongoose, the Fiery Skipper and lots more. Then we went on the Oahu Sunset Dinner Cruise. I was so amazed because it was so fancy. When we arrived back at the hotel it was about 7:45. We had a big day so we went to bed a little bit earlier than usual.


Tuesday.The next morning we were so tired that we decided to sleep in. That morning it was so hot that we went in the pool down stairs.[ The pool was so refreshing because it was cool and freezing.]  After the pool we went for a little walk around Honolulu. All of my family went with me. We stopped at the supermarket to get bread and coconut milk. Then we went to the park. At the park it was getting hot so we walked across the road and got some ice- creams. Then we walked back to the hotel and had a rest. For lunch mum made a coconut slice. I thought it was scrumdiddlyumptious. After lunch we went to hire a car. We got a blue Swift. We only got to hire it for the rest of our holiday. Once we got our car we drove to the beach. At the beach there were lots of people. My dad borrowed a surfboard to go surfing. The waves were awesome and warm.


Wednesday.The next day when I woke up I was so hot that my family and I jumped into the pool. After that we were wondering what to do so we all went to the park and had a picnic. Mum brought sandwiches to the picnic and a bottle of lemonade. The lunch was delicious. That night after dinner we went to the beach. That night we all watched a family movie.


Thursday.The following morning my family and I went the zoo in Honolulu. We saw lots of different animals. Like the Indian Mongoose, 'Apapane, Fiery Skipper, Pacific Golden Plover, Yellow-billed Cardinal, Shampoo Ginger, Bamboo Orchid and a Yellow Ginger. It was so much fun. I wish I could do it again.


After that my family and I went for an explore around Honolulu. There was so much to look at. Like the maui hana coast day trip, koko head crater sunrise hike and the Ohau Wild Dolphin Snorkel Swim. They looked cool. That night I was pooped!

Friday.In the morning my family went to visit some friends across town. They have a paddling pool and a really deep pool. That night we went to a show with our friends. There were fireworks, food, dancing, acting and three pools. For dinner we had fish and chips. [for some strange reason the chips taste different!] After that we drove back to the hotel and fell fast asleep.


Saturday.The next morning my sister woke me up because I could hear the t.v.[ I think she woke up everyone!] That day we were going on a tour around Honolulu. The tour was called Pearl Harbor day trip. We were there all day. That is why it is called the day trip. It was so exiting because you could see dolphins and whales and lots of other things to. The best thing about the trip was the cafeteria staff would serve you the food you wanted whether it was lunch time or not. But they would only serve you if you were in the cafe. It was so fancy. When the cruise stopped it was 6:45. [ Time for dinner.] For dinner we had chicken rice and juice. Then it was bedtime for us kids. Before we went to bed mum said we could watch a movie. The movie was called soul surfer. It was based on a true story. It was about a teenager girl from hawaii and she was a surfer. But one day when she was chilling on the waves a shark came a bit her arm right off. But her dad helped her to surf again. She had always been a great surfer and she always will be.


Sunday.The next morning I woke up last because I was so tired. Anyway today is going to be so exiting because tonight we are going to the beach and we are having dinner there. For dinner we are having takeaways. We invited mums friends family to join us. But this morning we are just chilling at the hotel.[ four hours later.]  Now we have to get ready because we are getting ready for the beach. Now that I am ready to go to the beach I need to help my brother and sister get ready. Now we are all ready to go to the beach. We had to pack togs, towel,  bucket and spade and everything else you have at the beach. So now we get in the car that we hired for our trip and drove to the beach. Our friends picked up our fish and chips for us. After the fish and chips I was so hot I decided to get in to my togs and go swimming. My mum said to wait for everybody else to go in with me because I might drown. Once we were all in the water we could hear dolphins. They we shrieking. It sounded like they were crying. After we were dry we all went home to a lovely sleep.


Monday 2. Today we are going to see a movie in the cinemas. It is called happy feet 2. You have probably heard of it before. After the movie I went for a little walk because I needed to stretch. Next we drove back to the hotel. We jumped into the pool because it was so hot! after the pool I was still hot so I decided to jump back in again. Now that I am refreshed I can go play in the hotel. Now it is bedtime! [ good night]


Tuesday 2. Only three more days to go. We leave on friday. I dont want to leave! So then I guess I will have to make the most of these three days. Anyway today we are doing nothing but mum said she had a surprise. I kept begging her to tell me the surprise but she never told me. Anyway mum said it was that night.  So I had to wait till then. Oh well mum wouldn't tell us anyway. [ so there was no point in asking]. Tonight we are going to the Honolulu dance and dinner night. I was thrilled to find out we were going to that because I Love dancing! The show was awesome and now I’m exhausted. Thats enough talking from me and now its the end of the day.


Thursday 2. Today we are so busy packing so im not going to have a lot of time to type. Im a bit busy! Talk to you soon………………………….. Now i'm all done packing I can talk ……….. about what though? Oh yeah yesterday I couldn't talk because I was busy out all day. But today I can. Yesterday we were driving all around the place! First we were going west then we were going back east, then north, then east, then back north again. It was confusing. Okay I have to go now. Talk to you soon.


Friday 2. Well today we are leaving. I think we land at 5:01pm. I’m not quite sure. That was my trip to Hawaii.

Janurary  7th 2014 [ Tasmania ]
Hello this is Ava I will be sharing where we have been in Australia, I will be staying in Australia for 6 months; Today we are in Tasmania we have been to lots of places, Such as going to the Beach, Went Kayaking with my cousins, Liffey falls [ a Waterfall ] And we also went through a Awesome Nature tour! I love Tasmania and next we are going to go to Queens land!

February  14th 2014  [ Queensland ]
Today we are in Queensland and we have just been to Dreamworld!  It’s the awesomest place Ever! I went on about 10 rides they were The Claw, The Tower Of Terror, The Giant Drop, Buzz Saw, River Rapids, Bumper Cars, Shockwave, Log Ride, The Cyclone and Wipe Out it was so Fun I also fed Kangaroos and held a Koala and wrapped a Snake around my neck and saw Dingos I love Dreamworld! And next we are going to go to Brisbane!

March 5th 2014  [ Brisbane ]                                     
Today we are in Brisbane we saw my 2nd Cousin and 3rd Cousin they are called Nicola and Emma. We were excited to see them except that Emma was so excited that she woke us up at 6 in the morning, and trust me I really need to get my beauty sleep and i'll be in a grump if i don't get it! But it was really fun seeing them! And next time I talk we are going to go to Sydney!

April 28th 2014  [ Sydney ]
Right now we are in Sydney hopefully I see Nemo! And we went to the Sydney Opera house we saw lots of things there and it's super sunny so we went outside the Opera house and stood in
the sunshine and looked across the water it gets very hot there so we had to wear a hat and sunscreen next we are going to go to Gold Coast

May 25th 2014 [ Gold coast]

Today I’m in the Gold coast and it is my last month in australia ]:  We went to Seaworld and Movie world and we did lots of stuff I held a Koala at Seaworld and saw Dolphins do a show that was really cool. We also went to Movie world and I saw Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and I love the Theme Parks there because there are so many rides to do and so much to see!

G'day mate Emily here and this is my travel blog in Australia. I'm in the Gold Coast right now I’m staying here for a week. We arrived at Gold Coast at 3pm my whole Family came.we stayed in a massive Resort we stayed for a week.

2nd of February 2014
Today we're going to Wet and Wild. When we got there, there were some massive slides I couldn't decide which one to go on then I decided I’m going to go on the surfrider then a bunch of other ones then we went back to the hotel and jumped in the pool. Tomorrow were going to the zoo for a whole day.
3rd of February 2014
When we got up in the morning we didn’t have time for breakfast because we had to go to the zoo so we got to have Mc Donalds on the way there.It was a long drive to get to the Zoo. Finally we got there. First we saw some crocodiles then we went to the snake show. I got picked to hold a SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!! it was very scary my dad helped me hold it.Then we saw some lions I got to hold a baby lion then we saw some kangaroos then we went to see some koalas then we saw some elephants I fed the elephants leaves.Then I saw some rhinos,they were really fat.Then we fed some giraffes and some Turtles then we went to the cafe it was animal themed  then we went back to the hotel and jumped in to the pool.



4th of February

Yeeeeeeeesssssssss  I just woke up and my mum told me were going to Sea World. I couldn't believe it. I ran to my closet got my clothes on and brushed my teeth at the same time. I ran to the car and jumped in everybody ran to the car. It took us three hours to get there. When we got there  we went on so many rides. One of them I went on was called the Sea Viper. It was really creepy. I felt that I was going to……. you know what and next we went on the Jet Rescue it was fast… it was reeeeally fast! so fast I thought I was gonna fall off -fast! Then we saw some dolphins at the dolphin show. We saw a lady riding one and then I got picked to touch the dolphin. Next we saw loads of pelicans. They were in a little enclosure. Then we went back to the hotel and jumped into the pool. Then we had dinner. I had a delicious burger. For dessert I had a lemon meringue. Yyyyyyyyyuuuuuuuuummmmmm. Then I went to bed.



5th of February
Today we are going shopping when we got there we went to the converse shop I got some zebra striped converse I also got some necklaces. We went  to mr toys toyworld we had dinner at hungry jacks.  I can’t remember what I ate but it sure was yummy after a long long day of shopping we went home and went to bed I stayed up on my ipad writing this blog and played a few games then I did some more research on Australia.I learnt lots about the flag and how Australia was found.

                                               


6th of February

Today I got up really early and packed my togs because my family was going to wet and wild a water park in the gold coast.  I could not wait to go on this  it was so scary in real life you see that person on it thats my brother leon even more  he was going crazy.The water slide was scary but fun.  





7th of february
today was just about……………………. packing at 10pm we got on a flight to come back to nz it took 1 hour when we got home it was 12pm because it took a hour to come back from the airport I collapsed it to bed and fell asleep.



My travel to England Houses of Parliament, London

Last year my family went to England because most of my railashons live there.When we went it was a hot  summery day.I did not fill my sut caes conpetly because I knew that we would buy lots of things there.It took us 24 hours days adout to get to England.On the plane me and my brother(his name is Conor)played on the games that were on the computers.I did not eat much because if I eat too much on a plane I get a bit sick.When we got there it was summer.After we had got off the plane we had a bit of food at a little cafe.I had a chocolate browny and a cup of hot chocolate.Conor had the same as me.My mum and dad had some plaen tea.When we had finished we went to our hotel.It was a very posh hotel.When it was bed time I was very tird and I floped into bed.The next day I woke up at 1 min past 7.00.Then we had some food.Then we went to see our cusens.One of them is 19 and the other one is 25.We saw our arnt with them.Then we went to the zoo with them.When we got to the zoo we had some lunch there.I had a baken and egg samwtch.Conor had a stake pie and my mum had some soop.My dad had a pie like Conor.My had a keash and my cusens had the same they had fish,chips.After we had lunch we looked at the animils.There was lots of animils at the zoo.We saw the lions first.They were all asleep but that did not mater to much.Then we saw the Elephants.One of the Elephants were having a barth in a pall of water.One of the Elephants had one tusk.After that we went to a show.Where the poeple how work at the zoo.did triks with a rera cat that I can not rember the name of.After that we went to our cusens house.We had spent two hours at the zoo.At my arnts and cusens house one of them had made a castle out of cards.His name is Harry and our other cusen is named Oiley.Me,Conor,mum,dad,Harry,Oiley and my arnt went for a wailk on the big hill behined thire house.The hill is called the downes.There is lots of sheep on the downes.One or two sheep came up to us and said hi.We wailked around the downes for a bit and played tag.Then we said goodbye to Harry,Oiley and my arnt and went back to the hotel because it was 5 and we were tiled.When we got to the hotel I fell into bed.In the mornning I woke up at 7.0 clock.Then I got grest and went to see mum,dad.Then we all went to the brecfest room witch was down stears.We orderd some food I got hot dog it was so yummey.It was are last day in England.All our friends and railashons said goodbye to us.  I loved our chrip to England and I hope we can go there again.  treats in London Zoo
